Business leader, geologist and proven oil-finder with 25+ years experience in the petroleum industry. Involved with petroleum provinces all over the world, leading to significant discoveries in Norway, Gulf of Mexico, NE Canada and Brazil.

Main scientific interests: petroleum geology, regional geology particularly of passive margins, hyperextended margins, transform margins, basement reactivation, cratonic basins, petroleum systems of exhumed basins.

Business interests: prospect and play generation, exploration play and risk analysis, commercial deal-making in the exploration domain, economics, future energy supply.

Activities: Responsible for all exploration in USA Gulf of Mexico, Mexico, Canada and Alaska. Led team responsible for 4 major discoveries in GoM (Julia, Tonga West, Vito, Heidelberg), and two offshore eastern Canada (Mizzen, Ballicatters). Led entry to Alaska Chukchi Sea 2008. Supervised fourth largest deep water portfolio in GoM. Supervised operated drilling in Canada and GoM. Acquired Canada Flemish Pass acreage (2010) leading to major Bay du Nord discovery (2013).

Activities: Responsible for exploration in Brazil, Venezuela, Mexico and the USA Gulf of Mexico. Staff in London, Stavanger, Rio, Caracas and Mexico City. Acquisition and operatorship, Plataforma Deltana (Venezuela), Brazilian acreage acquisition (8 blocks 2002-2005), re-entry and build to significant position in USA Gulf of Mexico (2003-2005). Negotiated three re-entry deals in GoM, resulting in two significant deep water discoveries and paving way for major Encana acquisition.

Activities: Responsible for exploration acquisition on the Norwegian Continental Shelf. Led Conoco Norway's Round 13 and 14 application, winning acreage including the Hermod (Gråne) discovery.

Activities: Discipline supervisor for all aspects of exploration geology on the Norwegian Shelf.
